What is tin Coating
The process of lining brass cookware with silver lining (tin) on the inside is called tin coating or kalai in hindi. It makes brass cookware safe for sour foods, and also adds flavour to the food.
How often does it have to be retinned ?
It completely depends on the utility. If you are ccoking in it daily it may last for 3 months, and if you are cooking in it once a while it may last for as long as 1 year also.
Things to know before you start using tin coated utensils?
Do not leave it on the flame without any content, it may lead tin to melt and evaporate.
Get it retinned as soon as you see the layer of brass/ copper visible.
Where can you get the ritinning done abroad.
